Everyday Sketching 2025 Week 10

Color charts, with mosaics worked to the edge. 100 People One Week, and a little bit of Foundations thrown in.

This week was dominated by the very rewarding 100 People One Week challenge. I did a couple Foundations lessons, and a color chart of the new Inktense pencils that arrived.

I’m really starting to enjoy the challenge of building these mosaic displays of the colors I swatch. I’m considering ways in which to do them more organically. I love the quilt block look, but I’d like to try other methods as well.

  1. I found these pages very interesting. I liked all your sketches of people’s faces. And was fascinated by your notes on your learnings, where you were, what you reading (maybe?) and what materials you were using.

I’ve just discovered Inktense pencils and have one: Ink Black 2200. I think I’m going to get more and appreciated seeing which ones you’d tried. Do you have any preferences so far?

    Thanks for sharing your sketchbook.

    1. Thanks Ginie! I do try to capture the very everyday things, and I’m so grateful you enjoy it, too!

I like the Ink Black and carry that as my chosen black. As for preferences with Inktense, I am always partial to greens and tend to want lots of them. I should also try to create a desert palette, now that I’m thinking of it. Hmmm. More to come, it looks like!
